Galloping Goats Get Points !

In very heavy conditions at Goat Park, the reserves turned on a great display against Thornbury United.  Following two heavy losses in the past two matches the Goats were determined to return to the winners list.

Discipline, accountability and structure returned to our game and a hapless Thornbury were on the receiving end of a goat rampage.  Each player carried out the pre match instructions and the result was some very handy football with several goal scoring opportunities created resulting in two goals by Tyler during the first half.  Whilst the goals were very well taken the same unfortunately cannot be said about Tyler’s dubious goal celebrations.  Frustration began to creep into Thornbury’s game which resulted in a red card just before half time and the rest would become a formality.

The second half played out as expected with the Goats controlling the game in the middle of the park with Shane and Covino working tirelessly and the defence standing strong led by Cenz and Adrian.  More opportunities were created and the Goats galloped away with Mitch scoring a well taken header and Drago thumping one into the back of the net after doing his best to squander the chance!

A much improved effort with plenty to look forward to for the remainder of the season.

The seniors played out a nil all draw.

Match Report Seniors

The Seniors took little time in controlling the match from the outset, with Josh Benigno and Sandro Lombardi in fine form controlling the midfield and with the defense with little to do  Daniel Lombardi and Damian Dimartino kept the defence switched on to deal with the little that Trojan had as an attacking force.

There were multiple chances before the first goal with Nathen Calle opened the scoring mid way through the first half, he would go on to score his first Mt Lilydale hat-trick for the club this year.

The Goats were well up at half-time but did not take there foot off the pedal in the second half and dominated from start to finish, but going into the last 20 mintutes of the game the boys started to not hold there positions and drift off  letting through two easy goals so im sure the Dave the coach would be looking at trying to improve this in weeks to come.

Apart from that a great effort from all the boys

Great win for the boys they have really set the standard and with better finishing in front of goal it could have been even more!!! Look out for even better polished performances from the boys, which is saying something considering the score line.

Final Score 10-2
