Seniors vs croydon
Reporter: Joey Pignataro
Mount Lilydale seniors played host to Croydon Rangers for it's first game of the season in 30 degree heat. Both teams attacked early but it was the Croydon team who took a 2-0 half time lead, but regardless of the score it was a very competitive first half with Mt Lilydale matching Croydon at every contest.
The second half was a different story with Croydon attacking for the majority of the half, putting enormous pressure on the Mt Lilydales defence and especially Christian D'Ubano the goal keeper. With Croydon scoring 5 second half goals the match was a one sided affair. Best players for Mt Lilydale were Adrian Notaro and John Pignataro.

Mount Lilydale reserves played host to Croydon Rangers in what was the first official game for the Mount Lilydale Old Collegians Soccer Club.
The Mt Lilydale Boys started well attacking and defending with confidence against the Rangers who finished 2nd last year. Goal Keeper John Covino saved well stopping anything in his track and kicking well past the centre. It wasn't until Adam Gemelli superbly kicked from a free to set to Victor Inglese who timed the header to perfection and scrored MLOCSC first ever goal. At half time the scores were Mt Lilydale 1 to Croydon Rangers 0.
Early in the second half Victor Inglese again in a solo effort running on the right side kicked truly to score his second goal of the game and his teams. But then for the next 20 minutes Croydon dominated the game kicking two quick goals and leveling the scores at 2 all. For the rest of the half it was a wrestle and the game finished in a 2 all draw.
Best players for Mt Lilydale were Victor Inglese, John Covino, and Adam Gemelli.
