seniors: cic is back!

Seniors 0 Drew With Bayswater 0
The seniors were on a high after last weeks 2-0 away win at the pines, but
the bayswater strikers didn't come down to lilydale to go home empty handed.
The game was a very even contest with both sides having equal opportunity in
the opening half.
The second half became more one sided with mount lilydale
spraying several good opportunities to finish the game, but it wasn't to be
and the contest ended with a nil all draw.
It was great to see Cic back to his best, with his Broken Leg of last year not causing any problems in a fine display in defence.

reserves: exiting goal frenzy

Reserves 3 drew with Bayswater 3
The reserves have started the season with two 2-2 draws against excellent
opposition, but things were looking very shaky in the first half when the
boys recieved two first half goals and the contest was looking very one
sided. the half ended 2-0 to bayswater.
The second half was explosive to say the least with david chioda starting
what looked like a unlikely comback with a early solo goal. the games
momento lifted and so did the boys with midfielder david inglese scoring the
equaliser to tie the contest at 2-2.
It was all mount lilydale from here on
with attack after attack being unrewarded but when substitute paul lando
came on with only minutes left he unleashed a 22 yard bullet into the top
corner to put the boys up 3-2. the dying minutes was all bayswater and in a
unlucky goal mouth scramble the ball was poked in from close range to level
the game at 3-3 and thats the way it ended.
The boys came close yet again.
unlucky boys, keep it going!!
Best Players: Christian D'urbano, Antoni Schalken and David Inglese.
