SENIORS 0 LOST TO HAMPTON PARK 3

The Mount Lilydale team began in good spirits with the team looking for it's first home win for it's die hard supporters.

The game started well with several good opportunities falling to both teams. The Hampton Park team looked very dangerous on the attack but it was the back two of Cic and Mergs that were on the top in the opening half. The half was a midfield battle in cold conditions. The half ended 0-0.

The second half came and the line-up of the Mount Liliydale changed to a 4-3-3 with what looked a more attcking edge. But it wasn't meant to be with Hampton Park exposing the defence to head home the opening goal at the 70th minute mark. The Mount Lilydale team seemed to lose confidence and another goal was conceeded with a one on one with the keeper that seemed to be off-side by a country mile. The game was all but over in what turned into a one sided contest with Hampton Park rubbing salt into the wound with another scrambled goal.
The day didn't go our way but the team travels to Knox next week to play for the 3 points to get us out of the relegation zone.

RESERVES 0 LOST TO HAMPTON PARK 2

The reserves game was a deep battle in the opening half with the Mount Lilydale team battling hard for their first win of the season.

The inclusion of Adrian Notaro into the reserves for disciplinary reasons, the boys looked dangerous in the middle with several attacking moves looking very threatening with Ernesto and Luis up front.The boys put in a mighty effort but it was the travelling Hampton Park that opened the scoring late in the first half. The second half had Hampton Park written all over it, with them adding another goal early to make the score 2-0. From then on the game was a possesion game for Hampton Park, with the Mount Lilydale boys looking a little shell-shocked.

The game ended 2-0, with the boys still fighting until the final whistle
