WRITTEN BY BAYSIDE

Like Boronia 3 – 1 win over Ringwood City, another Bayside Premier League club has impressed many with strong performances during of the off season.
Mt Lilydale Old Collegians looks set to improve on their debut season last year as they have draw three games against FFV Provisional League clubs.
First up Mt Lilydale drew 1 – 1 with Old Xaverians from Provisional 3. In the next match they took on Brighton Grammarians from the FFV Provisional 2 with a high scoring 3 – 3 game. The Mt Lilydale Premier Reserves team was defeated 3 – 0 on the day.
And finally Mt Lilydale gained a very good 0 – 0 result to Provisional League 1 club Rowville Eagles that included a missed penalty with the reserves winning 1 – 0.
Last year was the very first season for Mt Lilydale and a tough one at that. But they did steadily improve throughout the season and made it to the semi finals of the Sands Hotel Challenge Cup. This year they have a new couch Paul Psathas at the helm and have higher expectations for this season. Already their preseason form can be a testament to this.
